3D Architectural Visualisation
Affordable 3D aerial previsualisation at 4k resolution
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones as they are more commonly referred to, have revolutionised the way in which architectural developments can be previsualised.
The ability to quickly and safely deploy drones to record aerial footage or aerial images of a site and then overlay a 3D architectural model of the development, enables clients to previsualise it from a highly realistic aerial view that has until recently been excessively costly. All this has changed with the arrival of UAV camera drone filming.
Using 3D modelling software, 3D integration then allows for photorealistic 3D rendering of architectural models, which provides the client with the closest approximation of how the final development will appear and how it will interact with its surrounding environment.
UAV drone technical specifications
We pilot a DJI S900 with a Panasonic Lumix GH4 4K resolution camera, which as well as producing stunning HD aerial footage also takes 16 megapixel still aerial photographs, which are included at no extra cost as part of our previs aerial filming service, should you also require drone aerial photography visualisation.
We have full CAA permissions to fly for commercial work and have public liability insurance of £5m.
Drones can legally fly to an altitude of up to 400 feet and are suitable for most architectural visualisation projects, but should you require aerial footage to be taken above 500 feet, if you require aerial images over a major European city, or need to capture over ten sites in a day, we offer a helicopter aerial filming service for these situations.
If you would like to direct the aerial shots as they occur, you can watch the footage in real time via our ground-based monitoring screens.
Helicopter technical specifications
Using a Eurocopter twin engine AS355 helicopter, we operate the Cineflex HD camera system with a Sony HDC-F950 camera. This produces incredible aerial footage, particularly when combined with our 42x Fujinon zoom lens.
In terms of recording formats, we offer a choice of solid state options such as the Odyssey SSD or P2, through to tape options such as HDCAM or HDCAM SR.
Our helicopter can be configured to carry up to three passengers, so you are welcome to come on board and direct the shots, if you so require.
More information about our aerial systems is available on our ‘Our Aircraft’ page.
